Who are we: An introduction

Timeline: A work history

This is how I got from a young innocent lad in Kent to a far wiser, aware man living in the Yorkshire Wolds. A world of Entertainment, travel, and a lifetimes working experience with iconic Sportsmen, Broadcasters, Musicians, Promotors & Entrepreneurs and staging shows and the Worlds biggest venues. Experience and Knowledge is everything. Please feel free to enquire.

The 60's

Grammar School educated, after leaving at 18 I joined Barclays Bank. Played Drums in a Band in the evenings, got discovered, signed a record contract and turned professional, sounds simple - it wasn't.

Touring with Vanity Fare
1967 - 1971
Touring with Vanity Fare

Had major hits with 'VANITY FARE' touring world wide including America where we had 2 million sellers in the `Top 10. My first taste of major venues, having played Wembley Arena, Royal Albert Hall, London Palladium & many more, some of which I subsequently returned to as a Promoter & Event Director, but that's later. Appeared on television worldwide including 'Top of the Pops' in the UK, 'Beat Club' in Germany, and 'The David Frost Show' in America many times. Toured the world without a care with music in my heart and lust in my loins. Well, I was only 22 yrs old. Heady times, but nothing lasts forever.

The 70's

The hits stopped, Got married, had two sons and quit the band. Happy to say I am still married to the same wonderful lady & my lads have done well. Best move I ever made !!

Joined Impressario Arthur Howes as an Agent & Tour Manager. Over the next five years acted for and toured The Four Tops, The Stylistics, Kool & The Gang, Sister Sledge, Harold Melvin & The Bluenotes, Fatback Band & Hall & Oates - well, this was the Seventies, the era of Disco, Soul Music & big hair.

I am proud to say I also did AC/DC's first UK Tour in 1976. Set up and ran major Tours for these & other Acts throughout Europe playing all major venues.

Found time to write and get published the history of rock bands 'Deep Purple' and 'Ritchie Blackmores Rainbow' as seen through the eyes of my life long chum Colin Hart. 'A Hart Life' charts his career as first my Tour Manager in the '60's and their Tour Management for 30 long years. The book is available in Kindle, in paperback and hardback from all good booksellers.

It is also available online in Japan from The Burnn Corporation www.shinko-music.co.jp where it is called 'From a Rock to a Hard Place' and for the rest of the world through www.wymerpublishing.co.uk as 'A Hart Life'.

The PDC has revitalised & re-invented the modern TV Game. When we started out on this road back in 1990 with 14 players and a lot of passion, I certainly did not imagine we would see an annual prize fund of £7 million. Pure fantasy but here it is in 2014. I now leave the front line of The Company to take up a Consultancy Role, manage a few of its very best celebrities such as Rod Studd & Wayne Mardle & relax a little. Its been quite an interesting life and long may it continue.
